[Desire ends with "Jolly good."]

MacPhisto: [sings] "Moon River, wider than a mile... I'm crossing you in style, some day..."

MacPhisto: "I love that one. Do you like... that one? I should come up here more often, you're so kind. I think the people of the North are so generous."

Crowd: [cheer]

MacPhisto: "I mean, you've been given the nuclear waste of the world – and you take it!  My goodness, you take the nuclear waste of the world. What a generous thing to do. I have a personal friend whose idea it was – the Minister for Environment, Mr Gummer. Shall I give him a telephone call?"

Crowd: [cheer]

MacPhisto: "I think he'd love to thank you personally. People give you their telephone numbers when you're very famous."

[dials]

MacPhisto: "Zero-seven-two, eight-eight-six-zero, five-two-four. Let's hope he's at home."

Woman: "Hello?"

MacPhisto: "Hello, I'd like to speak to Mr Gummer, please."

Woman: "Who is it, please?"

MacPhisto: "My name is MacPhisto. I think, uh, he knows me quite well, actually."

Woman: "Max what, sorry?"

MacPhisto: "My name is MacPhisto, M-A-C-P-H-I-S-T-O."

Woman: "Um, I'm afraid he's not in at the moment, I'm very sorry."

Crowd: [boo]

MacPhisto: "Mr Gummer?"

Woman: "Um, would you like to speak to him later?"

MacPhisto: "Well... but he's a personal friend of mine, and I have a few friends and I know he'd love to thank them personally..."

Crowd: [cheer]

Woman: "Well I'm sure he would. Would you like to speak later with him? Because I'm afraid he's out at the moment."

MacPhisto: "You sure he's not asleep?"

Woman: "I'm absolutely sure he's not asleep."

MacPhisto: "Cou-- could I leave a message for him?"

Woman: "Yes, of course."

MacPhisto: [sings] "I just called to say I love you... I just called to say how much I care..."

[Ultra Violet begins]
