Another Irish writer, Massive Heed Brendan Behan.
Picture originally featured on the Arcana website.
Arcana's remarks: "The archetypal Dublin writer, Behan's genius was honed in the
tenements of Dublin. His boozy, somewhat dishevelled genius produced some of the
best plays written about the underbelly of Irish life – Borstal Boy, The Quare Fella
– and of course as the writer of "The 'Oul Triangle" Behan is probably the author
whose works are performed at practically every houseparty ever held in Dublin! Our
Behan is always on his best behaviour of course – but he still has that "edge" to
him, and he provides an interesting contrast to his more dapper fellow-authors Joyce
and Wilde... but then Behan always was an original! " |
